Paris is a destination many of us dream of, after all it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the entire world. There’s so much to do and see in Paris, that you’ll never find yourself with a bored moment, but perhaps you’re looking for a few interesting and quirky things to do during your time there? Well I’ve got you covered with my list of top 4 things to do while in Paris.
Thankfully there’s more and more competition between airlines, ensuring you can easily find cheap flights to France, leaving you with extra money to spend on fun activities. Here are my top picks:
1. Wine and Cheese Tour
France is famous for it’s delicious wine and cheese. Starting off your trip around Paris or France with a wine and cheese tour is a great way to learn about pairings, what kind of wine you really love and where in France you’ll be able to find it in bucket loads. Likewise, there’s so many cheeses to try in France it would sadly be impossible to try them all (I may or may not have tried to do this) but a cheese tasting is a great way to figure out which ones you really love. You may be surprised to know a number of France’s most delicious cheeses are actually illegal in the United States, so if you’re visiting from over there, this may be your only opportunity to try them!
2. E-bike Tour
There’s a lot to see in Paris and choosing to do so by bicycle is a really exciting way to see a little more of this stunning city. Finding an e-bike tour is a great option because it means those of us who are maybe not as fit, can keep up with the group. I decided to try out the Paris Charms and Secrets e-bike tour the last time I was in Paris and it was excellent. I learned a lot about the history and saw many of Paris’ great sites, but from a different perspective.
3. Zipline Down the Eiffel Tower
Did you know it’s possible to zipline down the Eiffel tower? You’ll reach speeds of up to 90km/h, which is impressive even for those of us who are thrill seekers. This is a great way to enjoy the wonderful views of greater Paris and a much more fun way to ‘see’ the Eiffel tower.
4. See an Opera, Ballet or other Performance in a Parisian Theatre
Parisians have a reputation for being fashionable and there’s no better time to see it than at a performance in a beautiful theatre in Paris. Be sure to book ahead, as many events do sell out. Also be warned it’s not a good idea to turn up late, the doors will be shut and you’ll have to watch the performance on small TV screens in the lobby until the next intermission. I learned this lesson the hard way! Of course what kind of show you see will depend on what time you’re visiting, but be sure to start hunting at least a month before your trip.
Paris is such a fun city to explore and with these tips you’re sure to have an incredible holiday in the city of romance!
